Specialist Company in Plastic Part Quality Control Our different quality control methods

In the field of industrial plastic subcontracting, the compliance of a delivered part is absolutely non-negotiable. Whatever the type of part, it must meet the tolerances, functional requirements and specifications defined in the specifications. There are therefore no exceptions between the first batch and the last.

At Plastisart, quality control is integrated directly into the manufacturing process, not added at the end of the line. Our teams verify part compliance at every key stage of production, from the receipt of raw materials through to final packaging. This continuous inspection approach allows deviations to be detected and corrected as early as possible, before they affect an entire series.

Our different quality control methods

Dimensional inspection

Every part produced is checked against the execution drawings and tolerances defined in the manufacturing file. We use adapted measuring instruments to carry out all our checks. If there are deviations, we analyse them to detect the error and correct it.

Visual and appearance inspection

A systematic visual inspection is carried out on every batch to check for the absence of surface defects: burrs, inclusions, sink marks, surface heterogeneities, colour or surface finish defects. For parts intended for visible applications or sectors with strict appearance requirements, this inspection is based on criteria defined in advance with the client.

Functional inspection

For parts and sub-assemblies incorporating mechanical, assembly or sealing functions, we carry out additional functional checks: fit testing, verification of assembly interfaces, clearance and fit inspection, resistance to load tests according to the specifications of the manufacturing brief.

First article inspection

Before launching the production of a series, a first part or first validation batch is produced and fully inspected. This First Article Inspection validates whether everything is correct between the manufacturing file, the tooling and the produced part before committing to full production. This is a particularly important step for new references and projects with strict dimensional or functional requirements.

Complete traceability and documentation

Every order produced at Plastisart is subject to complete traceability, from the raw material batch through to delivery. This traceability covers essential information: reference and batch of material used, manufacturing process and parameters, results of inspections carried out, operator identification, production and inspection dates.

On request, we provide dimensional inspection reports, conformity certificates and first article files adapted to the requirements of your sector. This documentation is essential for clients subject to regulatory obligations or quality audits, particularly in the medical, pharmaceutical, food processing and defence sectors.

Quality control expert for demanding sectors

Some sectors impose levels of compliance and traceability that exceed standard requirements. At Plastisart, we adapt our quality control to the requirements of each sector.

Medical and pharmaceutical sector

For this sector, material traceability, documentation of every batch and compliance with dimensional tolerances are non-negotiable. This is why we adapt our inspection plan to regulatory requirements.

Food processing sector

In our manufacturing process, we integrate a compliance check of the materials used, food-grade certification, absence of contaminants and cleanliness of the delivered parts.

Defence and aeronautics sector

For this specific field, complete documentation of manufacturing files and ascending and descending traceability is a systematic requirement from our clients.

Our quality control process applies to all sectors with which we work. Nevertheless, we adapt our processes to the requirements of each field of activity.

Why choose Plastisart for the quality control of your plastic parts?

For an industrial manufacturer, a non-compliant part on an assembly line is a risk. This is why at Plastisart, quality is planned, measured and documented in the same way as costs and lead times.

Entrusting the manufacture of your plastic components to our teams means benefiting from rigorous inspection, complete traceability and documentation adapted to the requirements of your sector. Every delivered part is a part validated by our experts.

FAQ

What is FAI (First Article Inspection) validation at Plastisart?

Before launching the full production of your series, we manufacture a first validation part. It is measured and inspected in every detail to ensure that the tooling, manufacturing parameters and material meet your specifications 100%. This is what allows us to launch the rest of the production.

How do you guarantee raw material traceability?

We apply rigorous monitoring from the moment polymers are received in our facility. Every batch of raw material is recorded and linked to its certificate of origin. This batch number follows your parts at every stage (machining, thermoforming, RIM) and is recorded in the manufacturing file to guarantee you complete ascending and descending traceability.

Do you provide inspection reports and conformity certificates with delivery?

Yes, on simple request at the time of order. We adapt our technical documentation to the regulatory requirements of your market (material certificates 2.1 or 3.1, dimensional inspection reports by metrology, technical data sheets). This is an essential service for our clients subject to strict audits in the medical, aeronautics or food processing sectors.

How do you manage appearance inspection for highly visible parts?

For cladding parts, bodywork or operator interfaces, we carry out a systematic visual inspection part by part. To guarantee perfect compliance, we define precise appearance criteria with you upstream of the project (tolerance limits for micro-marks, heterogeneities or colour variations).

Do you adapt your inspection methods according to the sector?

Yes, absolutely. While our rigour is maximum for every project, the protocols differ: the food processing sector will require strict control of grades and cleanliness, and the medical sector will impose flawless batch documentation. For defence and aeronautics, very thorough functional and mechanical adjustment inspections are necessary. Of course, it is also the requirements of our clients that define our inspection plan.
