Coating, marking, and screen printing on plastic parts Finishing as the final phase of manufacturing

A well-manufactured plastic part can lose its value if its finish does not meet the requirements of its final application. Visual appearance, surface resistance, the visual identity of the product and regulatory markings are not mere details: they form an integral part of the specifications of an industrial component.

At Plastisart, coating, marking and screen printing are carried out in-house, in our dedicated finishing workshop. This integration avoids sending parts to an external subcontractor between production and delivery, eliminates additional lead times and guarantees total consistency between part manufacturing and its surface finishing.

Coating and painting on plastic parts

Our workshop has a dedicated paint booth, equipped for the application of liquid paints on plastic parts of various dimensions. The coating process begins with rigorous surface preparation: degreasing, cleaning, bonding primer if necessary depending on the thermoplastic. This preparation step is decisive for the adhesion and durability of the final coating.

We work with paints adapted to thermoplastics and their specific constraints: flexibility, thermal resistance, adhesion on low surface energy materials such as HDPE or PP. Available finishes cover matt, satin and gloss appearances, in all shades on RAL, Pantone reference or according to the sample provided.

Industrial screen printing on plastic parts

At Plastisart, screen printing is carried out in our workshop on the parts we produce. It allows the visual elements defined by your specifications to be applied to each component: brand identity, serial numbers, safety instructions, regulatory pictograms, traceability codes.

The inks used are selected according to the material of the part and its conditions of use. After application, the polymerisation of the inks is ensured by passage through an oven, which guarantees a certain resistance over time.

Complementary markings on your plastic parts

Beyond screen printing, we offer complementary marking solutions according to the specific needs of each project: application of technical or traceability labels, selective masking to protect zones during painting or treatment operations, and laser engraving for permanent marking on technical thermoplastics.

The choice of marking technique is defined with you during the study phase, taking into account the desired service life, the operating environment and the regulatory or normative requirements specific to your sector.

Integrated finishing, a concrete advantage on lead times

In a classic plastic subcontracting project, finishing is often the source of hidden delays. The part is produced, then sent to a painter or screen printer, then returned before delivery. Each transfer represents a delay, a risk of damage and an additional contact to coordinate.

At Plastisart, finishing is carried out in continuity with manufacturing. The same manufacturing file that drives the production of the part integrates the coating and marking specifications. Lead times are consolidated, coordination is internal, and you receive a finished part, ready for use or assembly.

Why choose Plastisart to support you?

A single point of contact for a finished, delivered part ready for use

Coating, marking and screen printing are not options on the margins of manufacturing. They are part of the delivered product. At Plastisart, these operations are integrated into our process, coordinated with production, and carried out according to the same quality requirements as the part itself.

FAQ

What does plastic part coating consist of?

Coating refers to the application of a layer of paint or protective coating on a plastic part. This operation meets several objectives depending on the specifications: modifying the visual appearance of a part by giving it a specific colour, texture or gloss level, protecting the surface of the material against environmental aggressions such as scratches, UV, chemical products and humidity, and improving the adhesion of surfaces intended to be bonded, decorated or marked.

What is industrial screen printing on plastic parts?

Screen printing is a direct printing technique on parts that consists of depositing an ink through a photographic screen, reproducing with precision a pattern, logo, text or pictogram on the surface of the part. It is the reference technique for durable industrial marking on plastic parts.
What are the different applications of our coating and marking services?

Our coating, marking and screen printing services meet the needs of industrials from various sectors: machine cladding and covers requiring painting in the equipment manufacturer's colours, medical and laboratory parts with regulatory markings, special vehicle components with bodywork colour finish, food processing equipment with coatings resistant to cleaning products, defence and security parts with durable identification markings.

Do we offer other marking solutions?

Our workshop integrates complementary solutions according to your needs: laser engraving for permanent and unalterable marking in the body of the material, selective masking of complex technical zones before painting, and the application of high-adhesion technical labels.

Do the inks and paints resist washing and severe environments?

We select specific industrial inks and paints according to the thermoplastic used, including PP or HDPE, and its conditions of use. After application, the passage of the part through an oven ensures the complete polymerisation of the coating, guaranteeing optimal resistance to friction, UV and intensive cleaning.
