Plastics industry for the automotive and transport sector Plastic parts for special vehicles, rail and mobility

The transport and mobility sector covers a very diverse reality for a plastic subcontractor. On one side, high-volume automotive production is dominated by volumes incompatible with our DNA. On the other, a set of high-value-added segments demands flexibility: special vehicles, rail equipment, construction machinery, emergency vehicles and light mobility.

Technical requirements in the transport sector

The success of a vehicle bodywork or cladding project depends on the selection of polymers capable of withstanding the daily stresses of road and rail.

UV and weather resistance

The exterior parts of a vehicle or transport equipment are permanently exposed to UV radiation, thermal variations, humidity and projections. The selected materials and their grades must maintain their appearance and mechanical properties throughout the equipment's service life, which can exceed 20 years for rail or special vehicles.

Impact and vibration resistance

Bodywork parts, interior cladding and structural components of vehicles are subject to shocks and continuous vibration cycles. This is why we use reference materials such as ABS, PC, ABS/PC alloys and filled polyamides for these applications depending on the required performance levels.

Fire safety and rail compliance

The rail sector imposes strict requirements on the fire behaviour of plastic materials (EN 45545 standard). Interior parts of rail vehicles must be produced in certified materials according to the flammability, smoke emission and gas toxicity levels defined by this standard.

Surface quality and finish

Whether it is a control panel or a bodywork panel, visible parts require an irreproachable aesthetic appearance. Thanks to our integrated coating workshop (finish painting in RAL/Pantone shades) and screen printing, we deliver finished components ready to be directly integrated on your assembly lines.

Some application examples for the transport sector

Thanks to our expertise and the numerous techniques we master, we are able to produce a wide variety of sub-assemblies.

Special and emergency vehicles

Ambulances, fire trucks, utility vehicles and law enforcement vehicles incorporate interior cladding, covers, partitions and specific storage systems. These parts are produced in small series, or even individually, volumes for which thermoforming and RIM moulding (polyurethane) are ideal.

Rail transport

We manufacture dozens of components per carriage: trays, partitions, armrests, control covers and interior signage. Each part is delivered with a complete traceability file and strictly complies with the requirements of the EN 45545 standard.

Construction and handling equipment

Agricultural and construction machinery cabins operate in very aggressive environments. We design their cab protections as well as their safety glazing in bent and thermoformed PMMA or polycarbonate.

Light mobility and electric vehicles

For the fairing of cargo bikes, scooters and urban three-wheelers, we produce lightweight and aerodynamic structures in thermoformed ABS or ABS/PC, offering an economical and robust alternative to composites or metals.

Transparent optical glazing and protection

Specific windscreens, portholes and side windows for transport vehicles require optically perfect parts. Our mastery of blow moulding and draping of transparent plastics meets these complex geometric needs with precision.
